Clean Air Now is an internationally recognized NPO working to improve the air we breath through the promotion of renewable hydrogen. Their website is an excellent source of information on renewable hydrogen and other alternative energy sources (both stationary and for transportation) The site also contains an excellent power point presentation that can be used for classroom demonstrations.

The U.S. EPA, NOAA, NPS, tribal, state, and local agencies developed the AIRNow Web site to provide the public with easy access to national air quality information. The Web site offers daily AQI forecasts as well as real-time AQI conditions for over 300 cities across the US, and provides links to more detailed State and local air quality Web sites.

Several teachers have asked how the AQI is related to the actual concentrations of various pollutants. We found this handy dandy calculator that lets you put in the AQI and it gives you the concentrations. It is on the AirNow site, but is a little difficult to find...so here is the direct link.
